Bottles 51.25 Released: New Terminal Support and Key Bug Fixes

The Bottles team has released version 51.25, introducing support for the st terminal and several important fixes that enhance stability and Steam integration.

The latest update to Bottles, version 51.25, refines multiple areas of the project’s Wine prefix management experience. Released by project maintainer Mirko Brombin, this version delivers improved cleanup behavior, fixes several UI inconsistencies, and introduces support for an additional terminal emulator.

Key fixes include resolving an invalid method call when toggling the “update-date” preference and preventing exceptions when updating a bottle’s dependency list view. The update also corrects a broken CMD action in xfce4-terminal and ensures that placeholder folders are completely removed when deleting bottles.

For Steam users, Bottles 51.25 now loads the BottleConfig directly from bottle.yml when available, improving configuration consistency across game prefixes. On the usability side, support for the lightweight “st terminal” has been added, expanding compatibility for users who prefer minimalist environments.

Version 51.25 has been tested with applications such as Notepad++ and Battle.net, confirming improved stability in real-world use.
