On 2nd September, Farid Abdelnour released the news of the Kdenlive 24.08 update with new features and improvements. With the new enhancement, the Whisper tool will provide better support on Mac and Windows.
This version adds some changes to improve performance in rendering timeline previews and playback of sequences. For the Kdenlive 24.08 update, fundraisers did fantastic work contributing funds to improving transitions and effects.
New options for transitions are also added in easing mode, such as Exponential In/Out, Elastic In/Out, Bounce In/Out, etc.
The latest update patches all of these issues by adding bug fixes for the Python-related errors, title background error codes, audio recording regression, and issues with the custom clips.
With the new transitions, users will get a new Effect Group feature to improve the control and apply changes easily.
Kdenlive 24.08 also has the curve editor for keyframes, but it is still in the Alpha phase, so some issues may occur in the future. Functionality-wise, the new update enhances the transform effect and integrates a grid to title/monitor feature for snapping as you move clips.
Unfortunately, the new update doesn’t fix the AVFilters error, which creates issues for many users.
