Mesa 25.2.5 Released: Critical Vulkan, Intel, and Zink Fixes Across the Graphics Stack

The Mesa team has announced the release of Mesa 25.2.5, a focused bugfix update that enhances driver stability and resolves a broad set of regressions in Vulkan, OpenGL, and Gallium components. Maintainer Eric Engestrom confirmed the rollout, encouraging users to report any issues through Mesa’s GitLab tracker.

In an official message to the Mesa developer community, Eric Engestrom announced the availability of Mesa 25.2.5, highlighting its role as a maintenance update in the ongoing 25.2 series. Users can report bugs at freedesktop.org. The next bugfix release is scheduled for October 29, 2025.

This release delivers targeted improvements from over twenty contributors, focusing on reliability and driver correctness:

  • Vulkan and RADV refinements: Benjamin Cheng improved query pool feedback handling and corrected encode query outputs, while Samuel Pitoiset addressed several RADV and Vulkan runtime issues including memory leaks, shader cache sizing, and DGC call stability.
  • Intel and ANV updates: Tapani Pälli implemented GFX12 restrictions and pipeline control fixes; José Roberto de Souza reworked allocator parameters from 32-bit to 64-bit and corrected offset logic in ANV.
  • Zink driver stabilization: Mike Blumenkrantz resolved transient allocation and binding issues, optimized framebuffer reuse, and fixed gl_ViewID_OVR typing errors.
  • PanVK and Panfrost improvements: Ashley Smith, Yiwei Zhang, and Iago Toral Quiroga fixed shader versioning, framebuffer clearing, and shader stat reporting.
  • Cross-driver corrections: Karol Herbst addressed LLVM 22 compatibility in CLC, Georg Lehmann fixed operand and overflow issues in ACO, and Natalie Vock improved BVH handling for NaN AABBs in RADV.
  • Maintenance and documentation: Eric Engestrom updated CI templates, documentation, and version metadata for 25.2.5.

Other contributors delivered focused fixes across GLX, NIL, Freedreno, and Etnaviv, ensuring consistent behavior across multiple hardware backends.
