Canta Theme: A Flat Material Design GTK Theme for Linux

Are you bored with your regular Ubuntu Desktop environment? If so, then I have an amazing new GTK theme for you called Canta Theme. This GTK theme is based on a materia gtk theme and inspired by Google’s material design, which supports GTK desktop environments like Gnome, Budgie, Pantheon, XFCE, Mate, etc.

Though the Canta GTK theme can be installed on any Linux distro, it is best suited to the Gnome Shell environment. Its light, bright, and airy look easily integrates with the Gnome shell desktop. Moreover, it also uses MacOS-style traffic light window controls.

There is a small drawback to this sort of material design theme. All the themes look the same, as they follow strictly Google’s Material Design. But Canta Theme shows us a unique and fresh look and feel.

This theme has a few variations: dark header bar, dark compact, light header bar, mixed, and light compact. It requires GTK+ 3.20 or later and GTK2 engines.
