MX-23.4 is Now Released with the Major Changes

MX-23.4

MX Linux is Debian-based with core AntiX components; they recently uploaded their latest release, which is full of improvements for users.

The new MX-23.4 just updated the most from MX-23 because the update contains lots of bug fixes, the awaited kernel updates, and app updates. First of all, with the update from Debian 12.7 “bookworm”, the new MX-23.4 has also been packed with the latest Debian and MX repos.

According to the MX-23.4 release notes, the team has fixed many bugs, added new language support, and added new apps to the MX “TEST” repository. This newly developed MX-23.4 comes with an updated pipewire-setup-mx that especially benefits KDE users for pipewire/wireplumber startup in the sysVinit

With kernel updates, MX-23.4 has updated Xfce, Fluxbox iso, and KDE along with the 6.1.106 kernel. The users who have MX Raspberry Pi Respin would be happy to hear that it also got updated and consists of the latest packages for MX as well as RPiOS repos.

There have been a lot of changes in the MX Package installer, including changes made to the UI. You will now get a list of all the installed packages in the test and backports tab. You can see versions of installed apps and repos in the table.

It has also brought a cron frontend and scheduler for jobs into Fluxbox ISO. It will now help users capture screenshots with some preset delay using the mxfb-quickshot_delay script. For the AHS users, the update included a 6.10.10 liqourix kernel for AHS and firmware packages updated.

In the MX-23.4, (MX-)live-usb-maker now defaults luks2 encryption for live USB devices. MX-USB-unmounted UI has been improved and added a new option to only show on tray whenever you insert a removable device.
